Teapots and Tea-drinking
Teapots are encouraged. Perhaps even highly encouraged.
Tea-drinking is also encouraged.
Teapots are delightful objects. Have you ever taken the time to inspect different teapots? Even pretty generic teapots can have subtle differences (and even pretty generic teapots are quite pleasing). I personally have quite a collection of different teapots and once I even invited a photographer friend over and we did a whole photoshoot. I have fat ones, thin ones, tall ones, short ones, shop-bought ones, homemade ones, plain ones and colourful ones. Some come from sets and some are actually coffee pots or the pots meant for holding extra water. My two favourites are a short, fat, white one that reminds me of something a genie might come out of and a tall, light green coffee pot. Right after those two come the one-cup teapot with fitted cup and saucer. It's even more cultish than normal because it is decorated with flowers.
Then we have tea-drinking. This is an encouraged activity primarily because it is such a soothing thing to do (and possibly even convivial if you add a few friends and some crumpets). The whole ritual of tea and the warm cup to hold is also very comforting and a wonderful way to find inner calm. Even if it is a sweltering summer's day, it can still be comforting to slowly sip a warm cup and savour each mouthful. Or you could substitute ice tea or cold-brewed tea...
All in all, teapots (coffee pots, hot water pots) and everything that goes with it just cultivate a very cultish spirit and so we encourage you to brew a pot right now!
